Connect to Self: I would like to talk about Abraham Lincoln's role in the Civil War. Because of him, the Union had won the war and shown the South how cruel they were to the slaves. Basically the whole war is over the rights of slaves, which the 13th, 14th, and 15th amendments were born. Blacks had the right to vote and people finally recognized them as citizens of the U.S.
Important People of the Civil War
Most of them were generals or leaders. However, both Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis were both presidents of their own forces. Some of the Confederate leaders like Robert E. Lee for example rejected the Union, only to find out they were wrong. The Union stuck to themselves, fighting for the freedom of slavery.
I think the North has a more steady leadership because of the many advantages they had. Abraham Lincoln was a wise leader alas as Jefferson Davis lacked leadership skills. However, both sides have their own secrets and advantages to defeat each other, but the North won the war.
Battles and wars can be won by a single decision of a leader. But since both leaders have a desire to win, which could bring consequences. A good leader has vision, intelligence, and organization. Both the Union and the Confederacy leaders had qualities of their decisions, motivating the troops, and implementing their strategies.
